Finding you - the Perfect Travel Partner! The idea for Senior Bachelor grew from the realization that after 10 years of being single, I miss, very much, being in a loving, healthy, committed relationship. I travel a great deal every year, and let's face it, being in a gondola in Venice, or on the beach in Bali watching the sunset, or seeing the Taj Mahal under a full moon, is a heck of a lot more fun being with someone you love than being alone!

Join me for a trip around the world! Quite frankly, I just have not been able to find "you," that perfect traveling partner. Due to my love for travel and my love for women, I tried to figure out a way that I could combine both passions, hence Senior Bachelor and the following offer:

Initially, I hoped to find one partner for six months of travel. However, so many women have written to me and said that this is simply too long, mainly due to other commitments in their lives. And, to go away with someone who is a virtual stranger was asking a heck of a lot! The overwhelming recommendations were to shorten the time of the trip to about one month. While it is still possible that it will be one woman for six months, it's also possible it could be six women for one month apiece or any combination thereof. I will be able to reach a more informed decision after I view all of the videotapes, biographies and letters. This will also provide the opportunity to travel to more than one woman. My offer includes paying all of the travel expenses while on the Journey together.

This trip will be full of adventure, loads of fun, and who knows, maybe even Romance. Traveling the world, and seeing all of its splendors, appeals to most all of us, but so few people are in a position to do so. This search is NOT limited to women from North America. Women from all countries and continents, of all religions and colors, and "able" disabled women are also invited and encouraged to apply.

Here is what you do! Four (4) things are necessary:

Make a videotape telling me about yourself and why you feel you and I would be a great match for each other. This videotape cannot be longer than 3 minutes. Write your name and email address clearly on the videotape label. Video tapes will not be returned. By submitting your tapes, you agree that they may be used in any manner or media worldwide as determined solely by me, including, but not limited to, a future episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show and its promotion. VHS format is greatly preferred. However, Mini-DV, DVD and 8mm will also be accepted.
Please write a biography similar to the one I have listed below (be sure to include all your contact information). Add any information you feel is important, such as special accomplishments, awards, and what you look for in a relationship. Be sure to include your work history, education and travel experience among other details. Don't be bashful-I'm not! All responses will be by e-mail, so be absolutely certain your e-mail address is very clearly written, both in your biography and on the label on the videotape. The videotapes and biographies will NOT be returned to you. If you want a copy, make sure you make one.
Please include a recent photo of any size. Please use a paper clip and attach it to your biography.
Finally, please include a self-addressed, stamped #10 size envelope (SASE) as there may be correspondence that may not be able to be handled via email.

Here is a little more about me, the reasons for the Senior Bachelor Search and what I am looking for in the Perfect Travel Partner!
Among the highlights of my life was meeting Oprah and appearing on her wonderful show twice- the first time in June of 2000 talking about my documentary, Pop&Me and then in April of 2005 discussing Senior Bachelor. Now let's get realistic-Oprah is the bomb!! No one anywhere on this planet comes close to having the reach and the appeal to women as Oprah. When Oprah's show opened this year and the theme for the year was "Your Wildest Dreams Come True" I figured that maybe Senior Bachelor had a shot. And the rest is history!

My life is really easy to explain. I have always been, and remain, totally devoted to three main passions in my life; Family, Travel, and Sports. Despite being blessed with a great lifestyle, I just do not feel complete. A woman who matches my enthusiasm for life, for living, for family, sports, and travel, I feel will complete me.

The woman I feel I will be the best match for me will be fit, a great traveler with a thirst for knowledge, and really-REALLY-REALLY-a lot of fun to be with. She should be at least 40 years old (thank you, Oprah!), adventurous, adaptable and open to the possibility of a long term relationship.

If you feel you are that person, the big question is, do you have the freedom to spend at least one month for travel? Undoubtedly there are many obligations and responsibilities in your life, possibly including work, caring for children or parents, or pets, mortgages, rent, etc.. I believe this has been the biggest obstacle to my finding you!! I understand this very well, hence my desire to gain as much exposure as possible by announcing my quest for you on the amazing Oprah Winfrey Show.

I should point out a few absolute deal-breakers from my end. Number one is smoking- even if you only smoke on rare occasions- it will never work. Also, you should be no more than a social drinker. I rarely drink, if at all, not because I have had drinking problems, but because sometimes even one sip gives me very bad headaches. And while it should go without saying, absolutely no involvement with drugs of any kind. Let me add that I have never been arrested nor had any skirmishes with the law, and have never had any serious illnesses or diseases of any kind. I suspect the woman I am interested in being with will have a similar background.

What happens next? I’ll be spending a lot of time reviewing videotapes and reading biographies. Then I may travel to a couple different cities for an opportunity to meet contestants face-to-face. I’ll head up a panel of judges, including a terrific woman who has known me for thirty years, two of my daughters-in-law, an ex-girlfriend (who knows me better?) and a celebrity who will conduct final interviews with selected prospective travelers. Subscribers to my newsletter will have the opportunity to recommend who I should select via this website. I plan to make my final selection in October and we pack our bags to leave sometime in November, 2005!
